What has been creating a buzz among golfers who have played this course is the conditioning of the greens. The new SeaDwarf Seashore Paspalum greens maintain their quickness and true roll year round because they do not require overseeding during the cooler months. This fact allows Fox Hollow to avoid the dreaded transition periods that most other courses in the region have to deal with twice a year. |

Fox Hollow so far has been able to achieve what few other golf courses in the area have been able to accomplish. They have found the perfect balance between affordable daily fee golf and golf course quality. The course conditioning at Fox Hollow is unmatched by other public golf courses in the area and is easily on par with those found at the most exclusive private clubs.

While the current conditioning is spectacular,
it is only enhanced by the quality of the course layout.
This mix of interesting holes is the last course designed
by Robert Trent Jones Sr., one of the most renowned
golf course designers of all time. A prolific architect,
Jones has added his name to about 500 golf courses in
at least 40 US states and 35 other countries all around
the world. It has been jokingly said that, "The sun
never sets on a Robert Trent Jones golf course". Fox
Hollow's design upholds the Robert Trent Jones tradition
of courses that are noted for their artistic landscaping,
innovative use of bunkers, liberal use of water hazards,
and deft placement of greens and hazards that encourage
a high level of strategy. Jones believed that golf should
be a no risk; no reward sport and his designs encouraged
daring play.
Fox Hollow provides golfers with a nice variety of tees that offer a breakdown in overall course yardage that players should take note of and try to make a realistic and proper decision on how much of this course that they would like to take on prior to teeing off. The golf course can stretch you out to over 7,100 yards if you choose to play the back tees with tees also set at the 6,800 and 6,400 yards and a forward set of tees that will allow to play around 6,000.
Trent Jones starts you off easily enough, a personal favorite design characteristic of mine, with a nice par 4 that is given a gentle turn to the left by a bunkering complex on the left. With a solid tee shot you should find yourself with a short iron to the first green.
The gentle enough ride continuous to the second hole, which plays pretty much straight away with water running up the left hand side but far enough left that if you hit your tee shot in the water then you certainly deserve the penalty. Try to take advantage of the first two holes because as many golfers have found out that the third hole a fox hollow can be a game breaker. Measuring 451 yards from the tips the tee shot on number three is the first true test of your driver, this tee shot requires both
length and accuracy, with hazard running up the length of the left hand side. Following a good tee shot you will be left with a long to mid iron into this to this green that slopes from back to front and with the condition these greens are kept in, it will serve you well to try and keep your approach below the hole.

The enjoyable variety of holes is continuous at Fox Hollow from start all the way to the finishing eighteenth hole which is one of the best finishing par fours in the state of Florida. This 459 yds finisher challenges the player immediately of the tee as you are forced to fire a long straight drive out into an island fairway. Following a good tee shot you are left with a middle to long iron into the green which slopes from back to front and is guarded by water short left and bunkers right. Truly a great hole on which to end your day. |

Fox Hollow also provides the golfer with the needed amenities on site following the round. There restaurant bar, Windows on the Green is one of best in the area providing the right balance between fine dining and a relaxed, bar-and-grill atmosphere.
Fox Hollow Golf Club is already well known to the avid golfer in the Tampa area and should be one that golfers traveling to the Tampa area this upcoming winter or anytime of the year for that matter should definitely put on their schedule.
