Atlanta has a long and rich tradition when it comes to golf. The Greater Atlanta area is home to many top public golf courses and has a reputation for good golf courses that can rival that of any top city. The final event of the PGA Tour season, THE TOUR Championship,
is played annually at East Lake Golf Club just outside of Atlanta. This golf course is used
because of its connection to the great amateur golfer Bobby Jones, an
Atlanta native.
