Home to world-class
recreational and tournament play, with more than one half billion dollars spent
on golf, the Iowa golf game is very big business
and big fun. Building on the success of the
U.S. Senior Open, enthusiastic fans greeted
Senior PGA Tour players with open arms at the
inaugural Allianz Championship at Glen Oaks
Country Club in West Des Moines this August.
The event offered the golf world a glimpse of
the Iowa golf scene. Greater Des Moines was
included in the tour along with other cities
such as Maui, Las Vegas and Nashville, among
others, showing that Iowa can hold its own.
According to Iowa Golf Magazine, there are more
than nine million rounds of golf played annually
on Iowa's 377 courses.
We have broken Iowa down into 3 top golf regions, Cedar Rapids Golf Courses, Quad Cities Golf Courses, and Sioux City Golf Courses.
