Daufuskie Island Resort
offers golfers their choice of two 18-hole championship courses - Bloody
Point and Melrose - Nestled quietly amid the tall trees and lush grounds
of the full-service resort, these two incredible golf courses offer peaceful
tranquility and spectacular ocean vistas. Play the award-winning, Jack Nicklaus-designed
Melrose Course - the only design in the Hilton Head Island area and Southern
Carolina Low Country to feature three finishing holes that dramatically hug the Atlantic
Ocean. Or tee off at Bloody Point, our oceanfront course, featuring
views of the Atlantic and nearby Savannah, Georgia.
Melrose Course This Jack Nicklaus
signature course has been ranked among the "Top 75 Golf Resorts in North America" by Golf Digest. It's one of the most
celebrated courses in South Carolina - featuring smaller target greens, a mixture of short- and long-par
4's, a diversity of par 3's, and unique par 5's. In addition, the 18th green sits on a small peninsula
that seems to jut into the Atlantic, testing the nerves of the best players.
Bloody Point Course This fantastic course was designed by
Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish, and named after a notorious 1700s battle between
Indians and the British on the island's southernmost tip. It utilizes the
Daufuskie's most scenic coastal marshes and dark water lagoons. Also, the bald
eagle's nest on the seventh hole and the Osprey's nest on the 15th hole are
visited annually by these nationally treasured birds. “Zagats has ranked the
grouping of par-4’s in the Top Ten in America”. |
