The Caledonia Golf Course was built upon the site of a working southern rice plantation, Caledonia has been recognized for its design and incredible beauty. Upon opening in 1995 Caledonia Golf Course was ranked 5th Best New Public Course in America by Golf Digest and was recently ranked 30th in the "Top 100 You Can Play" by Golf Magazine 2000. And, Caledonia was recently named "Top 100 America's Greatest Public Courses" by Golf Digest 2005-2006. From the entrance lined with centuries old live oaks to its antebellum-styled clubhouse, Caledonia is a world-class experience.
Caledonia Golf & Fish Club recently re-opened (Aug 2005) after two months of being closed for replacing their greens and making many other improvements. The Tifdwarf greens were replace by the newer strain of Bermuda, Champion Ultradwarf Bermunda which has proven to be superior to the Tifdwarf. The new greens are currently receiving rave reviews from all golfers. |
