Canyon Springs Golf Club, located in north
central San Antonio at the edge of the beautiful
Texas Hill Country, resides admidst the original
Claussen Homestead. Recently voted Best Overall
Public Golf Club as well as Reader's Favorite,
Canyon Springs Golf Club opened in 1998.
Even though Canyon Springs Golf Club was only recently founded in 1998, the Canyon Springs has a rich history. The club's location was known to be the 2nd stop on the old stagecoach trail out of San Antonio.
Along with many structures original to the ranch property, a watering trough still stands in the dry creek bed to the east of the Pro Shop. The concrete trough, used to water horses along the stagecoach route out of San Antonio, reads February 24, 1900 on its side.
