VIERA , FL — On November 4, 2006, the Duran Golf Club invited golfers to the newest and hottest spot for evening activity on the Space Coast and boy did they come! Over 300 local golfers and their families flocked to Duran Golf Club's Development Center to be among the first to play golf at night.

On an evening boasting 30mph “Coastal Breezes” and steadily dropping temperatures, Duran Golf Club and several local business partners pulled together to provide a spectacular introduction of Duran's new Development Center under lights and raise needed money for the children at Devereux Children's Hospital. “This event marked a very special night for us at Duran, but more importantly raised money for a very special cause that is near and dear to our Viera community” said David Tomczak, general manager for Duran Golf Club.

An entry fee of $10 included a round of golf on Duran's Par 3 Course, golf clinics, demos, children's games, contests, give-a-ways, some exceptional food and beverage, and a souvenir bag loaded with special coupons. The Brevard County Vietnam Veterans of America presented the colors, followed by the National Anthem and the official ribbon cutting ceremony hosted by both the Cocoa Beach and Melbourne Palm Bay Area Chamber of Commerce.

The Duran Development Center opened in March of 2006 with an astounding response.

“We have been anxiously anticipating the lighting of our Development Center and are very excited to finally flip the switch! Our guests love the expansiveness of the practice range and the playability of the par 3 course, but what is most exciting is we now can offer flexibility and availability. Both the practice range and the par 3 course are open for practice and play until 10 P.M. every night,” says General Manager David Tomczak.
